Where We Work
We are partnered with Smile Children’s Charity Village in the district of Kayunga in Uganda. The Charity Village is run by Reverend Francis Candiga, who is South Sudanese, and the children he helps include South Sudanese refugee orphans and Ugandan children. The Charity Village is Christian in its ethos and actively promotes Christianity in all it does
The charity village currently has
- an orphanage for 63 orphans
- a primary school for 300 children, which includes another 15 orphans who live in nearby villages
- onsite accommodation for 130 children
- Smile Academy for skills training of young men and women in vocational skills, such as dressmaking, hairdressing, tailoring, driving, engine mechanics
Smile Children’s Charity Village was started by Reverend Francis Candiga in 2020
Smile Children’s Charity Village is a children’s ministry organisation established in Uganda, with the purpose of providing spiritual, physical, and emotional support to vulnerable children in Uganda. Vulnerable children include orphans, children with special needs, children in dysfunctional homes, children living with HIV AIDS and children undergoing physical or emotional abuse
