Smile Child Sponsorship
We are called Smile Child Sponsorship because of our link with Smile Children's Charity Village in the district of Kayunga in Uganda. The motto of the Charity Village is 'Every child deserves a smile' and we believe we can help with this by finding sponsors for the orphans. Your sponsorship gives a message to the children that they are loved and this gives them a hope for the future that tomorrow will be greater than today. The children we look to sponsor are orphans, many are South Sudanese refugees and the others are Ugandan, and children who have parents living in poverty and are unable to afford in full their education
Smile Child Sponsorship is a Christian charity, founded in 2024 after the founders witnessed the poverty and desperate plight of children at the orphanage in Uganda and committed to put their faith into action with practical help to give the children hope for a better future
We have charitable aims, but there is something more fundamental than these in what we do

"I pray that Smile Child Sponsorship will grow and the Lord will provide for the children that He has brought into my life. Every day and every night, I think of how I will get food for them tomorrow and whether they will ever be able to study and complete their education and become responsible citizens. I spend a lot of sleepless nights thinking and praying about them, because I don't have what it takes to give them all they need. I praise God that he is answering my prayers through Smile Child Sponsorship"
Reverend Francis Candiga started out in 2020 with these general objectives
1. Provide education opportunities to vulnerable children in the South Sudanese refugee camps and rural parts of Uganda
2. Provide food and medical care to vulnerable children in South Sudanese refugee camps and in remote parts of Uganda
3. Provide short term practical skills such as tailoring, hairdressing, bakery and pastry, pig and poultry keeping among others, to single mothers to help them raise income to support their children
4. Provide clean water to vulnerable communities in Uganda. According to research, many people in rural areas in Uganda die from water-borne related disease. My vision is to provide borehole water to such communities, to reduce the high risks of contracting water-borne diseases
What Has Been Done so Far
1. Opened a school to provide learning for orphans and children from the surrounding community
2. Opened a children’s home, where we currently accommodate forty-two orphans, aged 1 to 19 Twenty-five of those are children from South Sudanese refugee camps and the others are from the community near to Smile Children’s Charity Village. Fifteen more orphans are at Smile school who live in nearby villages
3. Secured sponsorship for seven orphans of the sixty-five orphans in total
The Need
